Lisbon received a two year NH DOE robotics grant this school year to help increase access to new technology and help students be prepared for an increasingly technical career market after graduation. This year's award was for over $10,000 and was used in its entirety for the elementary school. Grades K-2 are using the new VEX 123 platform and grades 3-4 are learning VEX GO. Students now have the opportunity to use robotics at every grade level in school.
LRS elementary students walked to Grove Hill Cemetery to replace flags for veterans. Along the way, they learned a little about Lisbon's history. Watch our video and you can see all we did!
Congratulations to Hailey PetersonHailey was a runner up in the National Robert Frost Poetry contest with her poem "Beauty vs. Sanity"
Students in K-6 had their March Community Meeting AND chose a new book AND had our first guest author - Rajnii Eddins! He shared with us a few of his stories and songs, and he even created a rap with the kids. Rajnii is part of the Clif Year of the Book Grant Lisbon received this year. Please visit his website to learn more about him. And, stay tuned, a family event is coming in May!
Middle School Business Commercial ChallengeLRS 8th Graders worked in groups to build a commercial for local businesses. They met with business owners and employees to determine what was important to include in a 30-second commercial promoting their business. Once interviews and video footage was taken, group members worked individually to produce their own commercial. The commercials were then all given to the owners to decide which one is "hired" to represent and promote their business.
