Mission:  It is the mission of PAWS to teach skills necessary to enjoy outdoor ventures safely, to develop leadership skills, instill a sense of stewardship, community service, healthy lifestyle, and help students develop a relationship with the natural environment.

Objectives:  
  • To instill a love of wilderness and concern for the environment
  • To offer quality instruction in outdoor skills
  • To offer outdoor safety instruction
  • To provide wilderness experiences that utilizes acquired skills and blend academics
  • To use a learner-centered approach
  • To develop a healthy lifestyle

Basic Requirements:

  PAWS is open to up to twelve students in grades 9-12.  Members, at a minimum, must be in good physical condition, good academic standing, and should not have any disciplinary issues or excessive absences.  Each spring, new members are accepted to fill open positions after completing an application and interview.  If you are interested in joining, please stop by to see PAWS Advisor, Mr. Superchi, 
in Room 200.
